We Need Your Help!

We have been approached by Keech Hospice Care & the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Charity, both reaching out to us for help in acquiring some gardening tools. As these are both charities and every penny is crucial, they would love to repurpose and reuse where possible.

Keech Hospice Care provide specialist care for adults & children with life-limiting illnesses & vital support for their loved ones too. They run the Crafty Gardening Group where patients have been busy sowing & growing seeds, with future plans for hanging baskets & posies too!

The Bedfordshire NHS charity would like to revamp & maintain the gardens of two properties which are used by parents of babies that are currently on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Luton & Dunstable hospital. These gardens are somewhere that they can sit, reflect & get some well needed fresh air.

These support groups and charities work tirelessly to make a difference & support their patients & families and we would really love to help them out.

But first, we need your help! Do you have any old hand held garden tools that are just taking up space in the shed? We are especially looking for hand held forks, trowels, spades & long handled forks that are still in good working order? We will clean them up and pass them on.

We are also on the lookout for any raised /standing troughs as many of the patients at Keech Hospice have difficulty in bending so these would make such a difference to them.

There will be a wooden crate at our Information Desk where you can leave your preloved tools. We would love to get enough tools to help out both of these worthy charities so when you’re having a sort out of the shed or a good old garage clear out, we’re happy to give your old tools a new lease of life and allow them to bring some joy to those going through some very difficult times.
