I brought my elderly friend in to your restaurant today for a birthday treat (she’s 91!). We happened to mention it was her birthday to one of your staff members. They went away and returned a few minutes later with more staff members who surprised her with a balloon, a crown, a glass of bubbly and sang happy birthday.

‘Your Customer Service Has Ensured I Will Be A Returning Customer’

You are not my closest store but the pictures on your website looked good, so I thought I would give you a try. I am new to gardening as we only bought our first house in Eaton Bray last year. I came with a list and a rough idea of what I wanted to plant. The staff were amazing, so knowledgeable. The men working in the outdoor section gave me great advice about how to grow a rose. They told me about the training courses they went on at the different rose growing establishments. I was told how to grow my plants, what I needed to plant them and they arranged for the heavy items to be taken to my car. Your store might be a bit further away from me, but your customer service has ensured I will be a returning customer. Thank you.

‘We were treated with kindness and care and nothing was too much trouble’

My sister and I brought our mum to Poplars for many years, we shopped for our gardens and for gifts and always enjoyed a treat in Poplars Pantry during our trips. It therefore seemed very fitting to have an Afternoon Tea in Poplars Pantry following mum’s funeral when she recently passed away.  Ali and her wonderful team could not have been more attentive. The food was delicious and the service exceptional. We were treated with kindness and care and nothing was too much trouble.  The ‘left overs’ were even packed onto trays for us to take to the Care Home for mum’s friends. Thank you so much, it was all perfect and just as mum would have wanted.

‘It’s so refreshing to see a company that has such great customer service as well as happy staff’

My girlfriend and I visited your store to buy a few a bits and have a bite to eat. Before I carry on I will explain that my girlfriend recently hurt her ankle and was unable to walk unaided when we visited your store.

When we visited I was really taken back by how extremely helpfully the staff were.  From when we asked the manager to show us how to connect the shopping trolley to my girlfriend’s wheelchair to the staff in the restaurant who helped my girlfriend put her meal together at the carvery and even carried it over to her table. Special praise to the young lad who brought out stuff out to my car. It’s so refreshing to see a company that has such great customer service as well as happy staff. Many thanks for making our visit an enjoyable one.

‘You Should Be Very Proud Of Him As Today He Was The Face Of Poplars!’

Today I received, in all honesty, the best customer service a customer could ask for.

Being a Marketing Developer, I carry out mystery shops on a daily basis so I completely understand how important it is for outstanding customer service to be shown.

I had taken my Grandmother for a little ride out. We had tea and a slice of cake, when a very cheerful member of staff came into the Restaurant.  After complementing him on his singing, he came and sat down with me and Grandma. It turned out to be Paul, the Catering Services Manager. Little did Paul know, this was Grandmas first little trip out after having heart surgery a few weeks ago. Paul completely lifted her spirits as she was slightly nervous being out of the house and really did make her day. He asked for her name and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He even took the time to call over and say goodbye as we left.

This kind of customer service is very rare. If other companies had staff like Paul, who took the time to talk to customers, to have a smile on his face and to have such a positive attitude, they would also have a happy and healthy work place.

He is a credit to you in so many ways!! You should be very proud of him as today he was the face of Poplars.

Word of mouth is a very powerful thing, so I will be sure to pass on the good feedback.
